It’s a good point. I’m just dreaming of the days when the Senate would confirm all but the most obviously corrupt or rank incompetents in a day or two, without hearings. Those days are gone, unfortunatley.

I can easily envision President Hillary Clinton nominating Lawrence Tribe or Noam Chomsky to the Supreme Court and Republican senators voting overwhelmingly to confirm "in the interests of bi-partisanship."
Would you really expect anything else?
