I’ve not committed to support anyone, but one cannot say that Duncan Hunter is playing moderate on any issue.
Being a congressman seems a political disadvantage to me, but he would be a principled vote for president at this point.

You maybe interested to know Abraham Lincoln won his nomination and did not hold political office at the time and was not the favorite when the convention began! William Seward was the favorite.

Being a congressman seems a political disadvantage to me 2-3 years ago all I heard was that being a senator was a non-starter in a presidential election.
I guess peanut farmers and actors are the big draw. Oh...and socialist governors/mayors.
