LOL! Good stuff. I never accused Americans of being ineffective or non-productive.

Every chance you free-traders get you say, “Well would you prefer to buy American at a MUCH HIGHER COST?”
Much higher cost = unproductive lazy fat Americans. That is exactly what you are implying whether you like it or not.

You have completely missed the point, which is this: there are certain products manufactured overseas for a much lower cost than what it could be manufactured here. Why? Because US citizens have so many opportunities for decent paying jobs that they are unwilling to work in lousy manufacturing environments for wages that would allow certain products to be competitively manufactured on US soil. Not many of Americans are willing to work in a snow-globe manufacturing plant for $10/hour when we can get a clerical office job for $20/hour. Why isn't it a good thing that we can have full employment in this country, with many of the jobs having full benefits and safe working conditions while still benefiting from the low cost of consumer products caused by low manufacturing costs over seas? Doesn't that allow us all to enjoy a higher standard of living?
Contrary to your assertion that I am implying Americans are "fat and lazy," I actually believe this country and its entrepreneurial spirit have put us in a position whereby we can delegate the grunt work to other countries who have yet to develop their own economies to the point we have.
