I'm not quite sure why we're all so surprised. More to the point I can't see why there are so many angry voices shaking their fists at CNN for having pulled a fast one on us. For one thing I'd have to say I'm comfortable enough in my own skin that I can take and answer questions from anyone. For another, I'd like to know where else the tough questions are going to come from if not from people who disagree with us?

So what if CNN asked Hillary if she preferred diamonds or pearls? This hand-wringing smacks so of self-pity that its almost too much to bear. Let's display a little bit of professionalism, stop feeling sorry for ourselves and remember who we're dealing with. If this is the best/worst they can do to us then why should we be so scared/angry. Laughter I should think would be a more appropriate riposte.

I’ve been saying for years that this kind of Vince McMahon/WWF/WWE over-the-top politics is what the typical American voter has come to love. Real honor no longer has a place in American politics.
The typical voter loves and admires the fact the republicans were set up. Do the Republicans not watch prime-time TV?
Mr. and Mrs. Average Joe American are not disappointed in CNN for setting the republicans up, they’re laughing at the republicans for letting CNN get away with it.
It’s almost as if the republicans are in on it the gag, just like in professional wrestling.

On a seperate note about the Fair Tax...honest question here - Huckabee says he supports it, but wouldn’t this inhibit spending by wealthy if there is a consumption tax? For example: If we do away with income tax, but a person pays a higher tax on a luxury item, won’t that incentivize them to not purchase items like high ticket purchases?

In the CNN panel discussion after the debate...One of the first ladies questioned, when asked which GOP candidate she would support, answered, John Edwards.

That, I fear, is the nightmare scenario in its pure, essentialized state. While all the ballyhoo is about Clinton and Obama, while all eyes are on them, people are going to go behind those curtains and peep up something else. Edwards.
