A missing Kansas college student believed to be the victim of foul play led a double life as an Internet porn star by the name of Zoey Zane, a friend told The Associated Press on Wednesday.
A young woman resembling 18-year-old Emily Sander appears nude in photos posted on a Zoey Zane Web site.
"She enjoyed it. She is a young teenage girl and she wanted to be in the movies and enjoyed movies. She needed the extra money," said Nikki Watson, a close friend of Sander's at Butler Community College. "Nobody in El Dorado knew besides her close friends."
Police said they are aware of the Web site. But police investigator Chad Young would not confirm whether Sander is Zoey Zane and would not say whether the site was connected in any way to her disappearance.
Sander was last seen leaving a bar Friday in El Dorado, about 30 miles from Wichita, with a man identified as Israel Mireles, 24, authorities said. Sander and Mireles met that night at the bar, according to Watson.
Joe Terziu, owner of an Italian restaurant where Mireles worked, told The Wichita Eagle that he saw blood on a bed and carpet in the motel room where Mireles had been staying. Police have not confirmed the account.
A nationwide manhunt was under way for Mireles and his 16-year-old girlfriend. A rental car he had been driving turned up Tuesday in Texas.
Sander recently signed a contract for the pornographic work on the Web site, and told her parents about it on Thanksgiving, Watson said. Her boyfriend broke up with her because he did not approve, Watson said.

Denial is not a river in Egypt. Sad how some people live two very different lives and how heartbreaking it is when the truth comes out after a death. I feel badly for the grandmother of this young girl with exceedingly POOR morals and judgment (usually go hand in hand).

Surf the web, she is there with her morals, for all to see. A little late for parenting at this juncture.

Because she was 18 and 18 is old enough for her to sign a contract to work in porn. Not old enough for her to drink a beer. She's waaaaay too young for that!!! But to work in porn? No problem.
Exactly. Usually cause and effect aren’t quite so close together. “Mom & Dad, I’m a porn star.” Less than a week later she’s dead. Good lesson right there. Live a trashy life, end up in the trash. Just happened a lot quicker here.
