The answer to Romney is if you hire a company that uses illegal labor jobs will keep going to illegals.
“The answer to Romney is if you hire a company that uses illegal labor jobs will keep going to illegals.”
That is such an ignorant statement. I had (through Marshall Field Company that subcontracted a service to do in-house rug cleaning) for about 3 years the same guy come out to steam clean my rugs. He was Mexican, and it never ever once dawned on me when he came to clean my rugs whether he was legal or illegal. I figured, just like I am sure just about each and every one of you, that the company that hired him, hired a legal citizen. The last time he came to clean my rugs he was very agitated. I asked him what was wrong. Marshall Fields (a Chicago based chain of department stores) was being taken over by Macy’s out of New York. Macy’s had requested that the legality of all employees be verified and that included the subcontracted by Field’s rug cleaning business. He was mildly hysterical that they were doing so. He wouldn’t admit why, but I then knew why. He was one of them. He was an illegal alien who had lived in the U.S. for many years, had a family, and was about to be found out and lose his job. Now, you tell me how I, or Mitt Romney and his yard workers, or any of you would know whether someone was illegal or not, without asking each Mexican (or Polish, or whatever) worker whether they were legal or not, and then, I’m sure, if they were, they’d never tell you they were. They’d lie. So get off Mitt Romney’s back, especially when you spout such an unthinking, illogical, unkind attack on an honorable man who in no way was intentionally hiring illegals.
