The question was what would Jesus do on the death penalty?

Well of course since Jesus was a religious figure liberals would say that it would be a violation of church and state for Jesus to speak on a political issue. Unless of course Jesus agreed with the liberals in which case of course Jesus would be allowed to speak forever on the issue.

What would Jesus do on the death penalty?

Kind of a funny question since Jesus actually experienced it.

The question was what would Jesus do on the death penalty?

The perfect answer to this question would be that Jesus had first hand knowledge about the death penalty, and he chose for it to happen.
