You are so full of BS. Huckabee is no different that McCain, Romney or Giuliani on illegal immigration. They all SAY that we need to secure the borders, yet they want to allow illegals to gain citizenship through amnesty. They are all so full of it.

And yet you give Huckabee and Bush a pass for wanting to instantly legitimize 15-20 million illegal aliens at the stroke of a pen?

You are stepping on your own proboscis here...

“The Governor will take our country back for those who belong here. No open borders, no amnesty, no sanctuary, no false Social Security numbers, no driver’s licenses for illegals.”

“(Huckabee) eloquently defended his support for college scholarships for illegals (”we are a better country than that”)”

Uh, wuffa. Ooof. Snort, woof woof. Dude, I just blew something out my left nostril that looks like a raisin. But bigger.
Would you like to hear more?

IMO Huckabee is an excellent Pastor. He just shouldn’t have run for President. While it is all well and good to preach to your flock, it isn’t a conservative quality to do so to voters, in that the President should adhere to the Constitution, and govern within it. A preacher can preach to his congregation, but he shouldn’t preach to voters as a government employee. As many have said, nanny state policies are fine in church, as recommendations to the congregation to better their lives, give to the less fortunate, etc. They do not belong in law or government policy, if they are there, they are a detriment to liberty.

Come to think of it, just why did the Huckster desert his Christian podium to opt for the secular podium in the first place? As he said, himself, Jesus never ran for a government job.

The Simpson Mazolli Immigration Reform and Control act of 1986 was signed on November 6th, 1986.

President Ronald Reagan signed it for three reasons.

1. It would tighten up the laws that governed employment of illegal immigrants
2. It was touted to improve border enforcement so illegal immigration would be eliminated
3. It was suggested that only one million workers were in the United States illegally at the time, and legalizing them would clear the slate for the future

Reagon could hardly have imagined that the only portion of this bill that would be enforced, was item three and that there were 3.5 times as many illegal immigrants in country, than he had been led to believe.

Three and one half million illegal aliens were granted amnesty under the Simpson Mazolli Bill.  Subsequent to the signing of this bill and the millions of amnesties handed out, tens of millions more illegals flooded into the U.S.

Reagan can be partially blamed for what took place as a result of that bill.  I don't think it is accurate to describe him signing on as a blatant act of liberalism.  One million illegals were reported to have entered the nation over a few decades. That's hardly what anyone could have considered a flood of illegals, or a risk to the nation.  What we have today is entirely different.  Assimilation is almost impossible and the strain on our nation's infrastructure is massive.

I opposed the 1986 bill, but trying to use Reagan to make mileage off of his signing on to the bill is lame.

If the bills provisions would have been enforced by Bush, Clinton or Bush, we wouldn't be in the pickle we are today.  And blaming Reagon for this or attempting to make mileage off what he did exresses a lack of knowledge concerning what took place.

Two things Mike Huckabee and Chuck Norris have in common. 1) Both are conservative. And 2) Both are kick @$$."

I have nothing against either of them personally, but when it comes to politically, I will vote Chuck Yeagers endorsement, Duncan Hunter. Both are kicka**!

A lot of what Corsi has breathlessly tried to alarm the mindless with is just the most irresponsible fear mongering. It usually goes like this: He writes that public figure A ate at a Mexican restaurant, and the restaurant was in state B, and so that proves that that public figure has a secret deal to cede back that state to Mexico.

Duncan Hunter strongly opposed Reagan’s signing of the amnesty Immigration Reform and Control act, and Reagan lived to regret signing it, too.

The problem with a conservative giving in on a liberal idea, is revealed quite clearly in this matter.

Reagan gave in to fix the system, and the liberals took advantage and ran with it.

The moral of the story is that you don’t give a liberal an inch. If we look back over the last eight years, it becomes abundantly clear that this model stands up pretty well over time.

Let me guess, this is a conservative web site and despite his pro-life stance he is liberal. Your basic Blue Dog democrat. Though I can't imagine most blue dogs being pro-illegal.
