Romney retains and strengthens his 2nd place position as Thompson dives to a tie for last place among the 5 frontrunner candidates. The increase in support expected after Thompson was endorsed by the NRLC has failed to materialize. Huckabee and McCain hold steady.

Polls are crack for politicos. And excellent predictors of the future!

Meanwhile Pissant was encouraged by Rep. Duncan Hunter’s surge up to less than 2%.

Just another meaningless national poll that NO BEARING on the actual selection process of the primary race. In other words Rudy gets no conservative votes which is what you need to win the primary.

Most significant line, “Romney leads all Republicans in both Iowa and New Hampshire. Thompson and Romney are tied for the lead in South Carolina while Giuliani remains on top in Floridas Republican Primary.”

Anything IS possible in politics. I just don’t see a Dean scream scenario for either Romney or Gulliani.

Faster than Romney throwing Rush Limbaugh under the bus, after Romney fell for the “phoney soldiers” story, even!
But not as fast as Romney’s constant switching to and from pro-abortion, anti-gun, pro-gay, and pro socialized medicine!

Just as long as his poll numbers don’t go down.
