Well, while I disagree with his "crusade" ...
he is also BATshiat crazy ... He see's himself as a cross between Batman and Paul Revere ...
he has been banned under many guises on FR... he used to threaten legal action against FReepers who disagreed with him on posts... he was the purest definition of "TROLL"...
He is a bad lawyer who has abused the legal system and has ZERO ethics...
But yes, I do disagree/"have a beef" w/ NannyState Socialist Conservatives who want themselves and the Government to be the Arbiters of "Moral Values".
In my case I somewhat agree with one part of the crusade. M-rated games should not be sold to kids, and those stores that do should be punished. But Thompson is a paranoid legal bully with no sense of ethics. Anything goes for him to get his way, including putting hardcore gay porn in the public record without permission and without having it sealed (stored on government servers, available for everybody to view, your tax dollars pumping out gay porn). The judge didn't like that, and he has zero remorse over doing it. I'd pull his law license just for that stunt alone and throw him in jail for contempt.
Because of his antics, Thompson hurts the cause he purports to advance so much that many people have thought he is a game industry plant.
No, the guy really is a nutcase. He is NOT the kind of person you want on your side. He’s drawing away most of the attention to legitimate grievances by rude, obscene, obnoxious and harrassing blathering. People don’t see the legitimate “crusade”, they see an unhinged loon. He’s so bad that the state bar association is doing something they rarely do, and with great hesitation: consider disbarrment, in essence taking away his livelihood.
He COULD be a great force in the cause, if only he wouldn’t be such a truly & literally insufferable JERK about it.
I don't want to speak for anyone else, but my beef with Jack is that his ignorance of the law is matched only by his contempt for it. He routinely, if not daily, threatens and then files suits that have no legal basis or merit. He fires off one e-mail after another that are unprofessional, often unethical, and incredibly rude. He think's he's a big swingin' d--k, but he's really just a d--k.

For whatever reasons he has locked inside his twisty little brain, Jack Thompson makes a mockery of the law every time he opens his mouth. I want to say he wouldn't piss on the Constitution if it were on fire, but the truth is he probably wouldn't recognize it. He's an idiot, a charlatan, an embarrassment to the legal profession, and if the Florida Bar decides to yank his license it will only be because they're not allowed to snap his neck.
