During the past two administrations (GW & Bubba), I have been to about 20 countries/4 continents. When I visit another country, I act like a visitor, I don’t act like a jerk. I have never, ever had a single problem. I learn a few words of the local language, I’m friendly to them and they’re friendly to me.
IMHO, all of this anti-America talk is a myth. I’ve never seen it anywhere in the world.
The French and the Germans hate us...
No, their govts did, then the people of those two countries wound up voting in govts more aligned with the Bush administration. But the media will not mention that fact...
But they sure did with Spain!
We’ve traveled extensively as well over the last two administrations. I was very pleasantly surprised at how warm and friendly (especially) the French were to American visitors, as well as the Belgians, the Irish, the Scots, the. . .well, you get the picture. We, too, acted as visitors/guests and not like jerks.
Strangely, the only place I felt remotely uncomfortable was in a densely Muslim part of Londonistan, where several groups of unemployed men glared at me for walking by my husband’s side (clutching his hand for security!) and looking around, instead of walking behind him with my head covered and eyes downcast.
As a side note, it was a secret source of amusement to find out how many people traveling around Europe this year (the average Europeans, not the left) are truly repulsed by Hillary and do NOT want us to elect her as President. Apparently, real people everywhere can detect a complete fake.
