Great sacrifice to his family? No, that would be the Hunter family; they know about sacrifice. The Thompson boys are safe at home, following in the footsteps of their Dad and Granddad.

You know, just like you, I did my time in the Army. However, I don't expect everyone in this country to enlist. The military is not for everybody, nor should it be. I'm glad that Congressman Duncan Hunter served in the armed forces and that his progeny followed in his footsteps (as I did), but what exactly does that have to do with Fred Thompson? Are you saying that military service is a requirement for the oval office? The constitution disagrees with you. Thomas Jefferson and a lot of other distinguished chief executives never served in uniform.

Let me tell you what. Your man has had every chance to catch fire and just cant. Sorry, but he just does not have what it takes. Talking about no fire in the belly? What he says I agree with...but no one is listening.

Join a winning team with another good Conservative. Read some of these articles...come down to earth and be realistic because in order for Conservatives to win, we must unite behind the best possible candidate. That simply is not Duncan Hunter. I know the flames will begin.

Let’s get ur done boys!

I really like Hunter and Thompson. Would be happy with either as President. However, I take offense (as a Veteran) with your implication.

I served in the Army and want my children to do whatever makes them happy in life (as long as it is moral, legal, and ethical).... that is what I served for. If they do serve that is great and if not that is fine also.

I don’t imagine a man of Hunter’s character would think any less of his children who did not serve because that right to choose their own path is part of why we served in the first place!

This is a red herring and you can support one man without taking a shot at another for the path his children chose in life.

Judging people without knowing the facts, not a good character trait. You’re really stretching it to find a criticism.

My husband is a Vietnam vet, his father WWII [Omaha Beach, 3 other invasions, my dad Canadian air force in WWII [think being bombed by German planes] but my son had asthma for years and cannot serve.

You never know what the circumstances would be or what happened in their lives. I don’t expect everyone to serve, and my family has sacrificed.
