I actually own a facsimile of this Roman Map porn — a foldout in the 60s book, “The Roads that Led to Rome”, by Von Hagen. It has inspired me to spend some retirement time looking at those roads all around the Med, starting next year.
Basically, historians and scholars forgot about the Great Hedge that was built across, yes across INDIA. Around, 1800 miles of Hedges. Anyway, from a small caption that he read in a book, he decided to look for it. Anway, he found it. Interesting, read. Ya might find it in your library.
My son is studying Rome in school. The teacher bought 31 Roman coins from a collector in England or somewhere. They still have the dirt on them and they are cleaning them off in class and then doing research on the various Emperor’s that they find on their coin (if visible). Then they get to keep the coin. Now I’m off to google to see if these types of coins are in the range of affordability of a middle school - or if the “collector” is just making reproductions in Taiwan!
