She did not call that faggot Edwards, a faggot.
YES, she absolutely did.
And unlike all of you who will mindlessly parrot Coulter's lame explanation that people who were offended weren't intelligent enough to get her cerebral attempt at humor, I have proof. She admitted that she called Edwards a "faggot" on Hannity & Colmes, but spun like the Tasmanian Devil.
Sez Ann, she didn't mean to imply Edwards was a homosexual, she was just calling him a "wuss," which is ridiculous because the entire basis of the "joke" was the on-set clash of the stars of Grey's Anatomy in which the now-fired Isaiah Washington referred to gay co-star T.R. Knight as a "faggot" and had to go to "rehab" when word was leaked to the tabloids. Washington used the word while stating within earshot of Patrick Dempsey that while other members of the cast would be in hot water with a gay show producer when they reported late to the set, Knight would not.
In response to Alan Colmes, Coulter actually says at 2:33 of the above-linked YouTube video that "The word I used had nothing to do with sexual preference. It is a schoolyard taunt..." Colmes followed up with this question: "You used a word that's very offensive to gays. Would you use a word offensive to another group of people, and say 'It was only a joke'? Where do you draw the line?" She replied, "It isn't offensive to gays. It has nothing to do with being gay..."
Holy intellectual dishonesty, Batman! If it had nothing to do with homosexuality, why did Dempsey, Knight, and the Hollywood community at-large say it did? If that word wasn't to be treated like another word with double-g's that folks get in trouble for saying, why is there any controversy for Coulter to reference?
In any event, the "joke" had no business being told at the Conservative Political Action Committee convention, where neither Grey's Anatomy nor Washington's rehab were a topic of discussion or interest. But it got Ann's name buzzing in the headlines again, which to her is the most important thing.
