On the way to work today at 0615, I passed a huge crime scene on Old Cutler road. There were at least 7 vehicles, including the crime scene van. Rolls of yellow tape everywhere. I found out it was a home invasion that resulted in a home-owner being shot. Last week, I was on the way to work at about 0130, and saw two squad cars rolling through the area slowly, scanning with their searchlights. They stopped in front of the house and went in while I was driving by. Another co-worker who takes the same route also saw squad cars parked outside last week about 0600. They've been visiting that house a lot apparently. Today I learned that property 18050 OLD CUTLER RD PALMETTO BAY FL 33157-6423 is owned by Sean Taylor, #21 Safety - Washington Redskins. That fits with the rumor I heard earlier today that a football player was shot. He's a Miami local who was just drafted a few years ago. Take all of this with a grain of salt until it gets confirmed, but it got my attention as it happened around the block from my house.
