Well, the sheeple, particularly in the Northeast and the Middle West and the West Coast, are “afraid” of (1) drilling off the coast of FL and CA, (2) using nuclear power for peaceful purposes, (3) big oil companies. I think we are doomed.
If Bush had a brain he could use the “bully pulpit” and ask the American people put pressure on congress to immediately start a fast track program to oil exploration and building nuclear power plants at a rate of two per year as well as finding a way to burn coal which we have an abundance of. Right now we are just whining about the price of oil. We are thirty years late. It’s time to DO something. The results of such a program in this country would have an immediate impact on oil prices just on the news of our resolve.
