Seems he saw the same one I did.As long as things were going his way, George Bailey was a pillar of the community. Let him screw up and send his addle brained uncle to screw up a deposit and he unwinds. Lie about what happened, attempt a cover up, and when that fails, get drunk and commit suicide.
Not much of a positive message if you ask me.

I never got that part of the movie. Why was the uncle depositing that money in Potter’s bank?

Fig. I think that was the point in the movie. You do not know just how your life affects others. George Baily was given that opportunity with the intercession of God and a charming but bumbling angel

Seems to me George did more good than harm.
