If evolution were a fact, one would think that humans would evolve, not devolve or fail to become smarter.
Just to defend evolution here, the theory doesn't point to people getting superior or inferior. If the circumstances favour a trait, that trait will dominate, over time, as long as the similar conditions prevail. If society's failures are propped up through socialist schemes, rest assured that their numbers will increase. Likewise, with evolution.
If you pick a time in the past, say 500 or 1,000 years ago, and compare what we know about those folks to us today, we have come a long, long ways.
That doesn't prove evolution though, except by the standard you set up.
