To this day, there have been no consequences for being an inhuman enemy of the United States..... In fact - we have congress critters falling all over themselves wanting to please our former Communist enemy and ignore or lie about the Americans and Hill Tribe allies we all KNOW we left behind....
The ONLY sonsuvbithes who paid a price for the bestiality of their Communist Viet Cong or NVA allies — were the poor bastards who never got the opportunity to gain prisoner status once they realized they were certain to die if they didn’t attempt to surrender.
Gaining prisoner status became nearly impossible for enemy engaged in certain areas or known to be from certain units....and most especially for those in possession of Marine gear or personal items taken from Marines...
Those unfortunate bastards carried their own death warrants....
Too bad their domestic U.S. allies didn’t share the same fate....
We all know who they were too, don’t we?
Your post is the primary reason we need to refuse any trade with those savages and a primary reason I no longer buy Blackhawk products as they are made in Vietnam.
i can’t tell you how many tv-moron, democrap neighbors of mine
voiced deep concern about the u.s. “torture” at guantanomo bay.
tv liberal-socialism makes me wanna puke.
Yes we do.
How did they screw up? I saw parts of Bat 21, it seemed kinda lame.
I know something that can and you do too
The movie was lame -- compared to the true story. You can read what really happened at http://www.homeofheroes.com/brotherhood/seals.html.
Very lame. Did not approach depicting what WE will do to bring back one of our own. Appeared to be a low budget affair.
Another film, “Behind Enemy Lines” was another weak attempt at depicting CSAR. Unfortunately, both star Gene Hackman. I like the guy but he could have chosen better projects. The technical advisors on both films were clueless.
It is impossible for me to say how sad this makes me feel. To have withstood all that, why did he have to die in 2001?
Lou Gehrigs Disease. A hard way to go.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was. Most of our laws, charities, education, everything good in Western civilization, is based on the Bible. Without it, we would be savages. Sort of like the Muslim fanatics.
Carolyn
Why did he die? God called him home. He will be missed.
Yet I’m sure he’d never have thought of himself as heroic.
After reading about him, I find ‘hero’ is well defined as someone who does not give up or give in.

“After reading about him, I find hero is well defined as someone who does not give up or give in.”
I just got done wathing the DVD with my almost 13 year-old son. The lannguage was a bit rough for our household (a lot of use of the word sh*& - but my wife was out!) but the violence wasn’t too terrible. Torture and some shooting/killing but not very graphic.
It was a bit slow I thought (thinking of my 13 year old) and more of an adult movie creating the characters, motivation, etc. but my son didn’t get bored and loved the movie too, which surprised me a bit.
The thing that made Deiter a hero is because HE DID SOMETHING! I don’t think I give anything away as obviously he is rescued, and his “words of wisdom” (at least in the movie) are:
“Empty what is full,
Fill what is empty......
...
...
And scratch where it itches”
Now I have to read the book!
