The Securities and Exchange Commission has opened an investigation into spending by database marketer InfoUSA Inc.
The Omaha-based company said in a filing Tuesday that it would cooperate with the SEC's request for documents related to expense reimbursement, transactions with related parties, some corporate expenditures and certain trades of company stock.
The company did not specify what spending the SEC is looking for, but a lawsuit two hedge funds filed earlier this year may offer some clues.
InfoUSA did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment Wednesday.
The hedge funds — Cardinal Value Equity Partners and Dolphin Limited Partnership — say InfoUSA's chief executive misspent millions of dollars in corporate funds.
The funds say InfoUSA paid for use of a jet plane, the 80-foot (25-meter) yacht American Princess, condos in Hawaii and California and a University of Nebraska-Lincoln stadium box.
Some of the $28 million (€19 million) in "related-party transactions" the hedge funds have questioned included payments to Annapurna Corp. which InfoUSA founder and CEO Vin Gupta owned.
The lawsuit also questions why Gupta used private jets to fly Bill and Hillary Clinton on business, personal and campaign trips, and why Gupta gave Bill Clinton a $3.3 million (€2.2 million) consulting contract.
According to the lawsuit, InfoUSA has spent nearly $900,000 (€607,533) since 2001 flying the Clintons to domestic and international locations and political events.
In the past, Gupta and InfoUSA have said the jet, condos, stadium box and American Princess are for entertaining clients.
The company has come under scrutiny for its policies concerning the sale of personal information.
The New York Times reported in May that InfoUSA, which compiles consumer information and sells it to direct marketing companies and others, sold the names of senior citizens, including millions with Alzheimer's disease and others whom it identified as gamblers, with labels that said things such as, "These people are gullible."
The company has denied those allegations and said it does everything it can to ensure it does not do business with scam artists.
The Clintons will never go to jail..they have “little” people for that..they make certain others will take the fall......anyone who associates themselves with the Clintons deserve what they get..
Want to bet this investigation will either be buried, or “delayed” and watered down until after the election?

As long as there are mailing lists with the label, “These people are gullible,” in the voting pool, the Clintons will always be safe from prosecution.

The thing you will notice about this election...twelve years after Bill last ran and won...is that the FBI, SEC, and various financial groups are very capable in tracking down money and its trail. That was not true in the mid-90s. To some degree...9-11 helped...but our use of technology and simply smarter analysis...will make Hillary’s collection of cash alot more difficult. Her big cash collections...are still seven months away...giving her plenty of chances of screwing up and getting into serious ethical trouble.

MECHANISM: Freeper Calpernia turned us onto campaigns using "lost and stolen" ID data, names, security info from stolen credit card lists, seniors lists, military lists, etc.
THE MO: The Clintons need LOTS of names to launder large sums of funny money into campaigns. They need to invent names to circumvent FEC rules on donor limitations.
The Clintons recycle cash stolen by Dan Lasiter from the Arkansas Development Funds and cash generated by dope sales out of Mena. The Clintons, through the Rose Law Firm lent their friends (like Web Hubbell) millions for phony business ventures from ADFA ... They're using hers and Bill's offshore stash AND China money.....a gigantic shuffle scheme for hot cash.
The actual source of Clinton's money-laundering schemes might be kickbacks, corporations evading taxes and US banking laws, AND the haul Bill took in from presidential pardons.
The funny money is laundered, then made to appear as if it comes from individual donations..........except that the donors do not know they were contributors.
The biggest story here is the Democratic Party aiding and abetting money-laundering, currency conversions and violations of US banking laws. Dims are/were accepting funds through straw donors, funneled through criminals, illegal immigrants, and phony donors with fraudulent ID's.
The Clintons escalated campaign fraud to new levels—phonying up millions of bogus votes. They also raised illegal fundraising to new levels—---pocketing million$$$ from drug runners, and international criminals, including Chinese Intelligence in the market for nuclear secrets. Nothing was done in the 90s, b/c the Clintons had the USDOJ and the FBI in a hammerlock.

Isn’t InfoUSA the group that was targeting elderly by compiling and selling lists of “Old Suckers” to market to? And doesn’t Pelosi’s kid work as a VP for them even though he has no background?
