Howie made his grand return to radio on Nov. 18. In this weekly thread we follow his show plus I'll post interesting columns by him, etc. There are usually daily pings Mon.-Fri. and Sun with his column.
Do you know what this is about? Howie didn't know the last time I heard him mention it.
Let me help. Here are the answers to the questions:
ban greyhound racing -— YES
decriminalize marijuana-— YES
repeal the states income tax-— NEVER
repeal portions of a development law
known as Chapter 40B-— Unions have not told me how to vote
There now MA voters don’t need to even vote on these.
no idea, as of now... maybe more info somewhere online?
Galvin actually does a good job with those voter guides — giving the pros and cons for each referendum question, so I guess I’ll find out when the voter guides come out.
or: just did quick web search. try this:
I might have to read it again later. I know developers have acted unscrupulously (abetted by fed or local gov’t), but some of their arguments have a definite moonbat tinge — can’t both sides lose? ;-)
The Thu. ping
Developers are using the 40B provisions to run roughshod over local zoning. If a city/town needs to boost their number of affordable housing units, let the municipality decide where those units should be located.
I meant some of the referendum supporters have a moonbat tinge (I reread my earlier comment) — I’m suspicious of the “open space” argument thrown in with “affordable housing.” As I understand it (and I’m in Boston, where “open space” is basically the Common and Public Gardens, etc.), localities get money from the state to preserve open space, thus reducing housing and, as a natural consequence, “affordable” housing. I say “A pox on both their houses!”
Afternoon everybody!
"Umf,UMF!!"

Carr’s lucky this Sandwich pair isn’t after his lunch:
“A Cape Cod woman is suing the National Enquirer, claiming that two stories it published about a supposed “love child” with Senator Ted Kennedy were untrue. In the suit, filed Tuesday in US District Court, Caroline Bilodeau-Allen of East Sandwich says that “virtually every critical fact which [the Enquirer] reported is false and defamatory.”
“The Enquirer published two stories early last year - on Jan. 30 and Feb. 6 - alleging that Kennedy and Bilodeau-Allen began dating in 1983, before Kennedy’s divorce from his wife, Joan, was finalized, and that Bilodeau became pregnant in 1984. (Bilodeau-Allen was unmarried at the time and is referred to as Bilodeau in the stories.)
“The tabloid further alleged that the senator, then in his early 50s, begged Bilodeau, who was in her early 20s, to have an abortion. The Enquirer also claimed that he gave her expensive gifts, including a black Mustang convertible, a purebred Shar-Pei, and $15,000 cash in exchange for her silence.
[...]
“As a result of the stories, the suit claims, both Bilodeau-Allen and her son have had their reputations “ruined.” Though he’s not named as a defendant, the suit singles out radio host Howie Carr for “mocking Christopher for his ‘love child’ status” on his talk show. Both Bilodeau-Allen and Christopher are now on antidepressants and under the care of psychologists, according to the claim.”
It might be that the LibRat’s don’t care if they’re caught jacking with debates.
Yup...more on this at http://radioequalizer.blogspot.com

“TOLD YOU SO!
“Chastised Then, Rush Proven Right Over YouTube Debacle
“Since the debate aired, it has emerged that questions were planted by Democrat operatives, including declared supporters of Dem presidential candidates. The resulting fallout has proven a huge blow to CNN’s credibility, since it co-sponsored and aired the forum. Even notorious media suck-up and rival cable talker Joe Scarborough thinks CNN knew about the plants in advance. One audience member who asked a question about gays in the military even turned out to have an official role in the Clinton campaign!”
Inquiring minds wanna know!
ahh, so Rick”rabbit”Miller is getting a team to manage eh?
”Gee officer, that’s a funny lookin chauffeur's cap you're wearing
Remember Whitey "just happening to be" behind an armored truck that hit a bump, and some bags of money fell out?
There was an accusation made of Guiliani (that, or
something related) at the debate last night and he
quickly denied it (”well first of all, the story’s
not true”)...something that had come on on Drudge
the day of the debate.
