Ron Paul "impressed" by anger of his backers (American Empire about to fall)
Radio Iowa ^ | November 23, 2007 | O.Kay Henderson

Paul says the biggest issue of the day is foreign policy "and a war we're not winning," but he says government spending is linked to the war -- and that spending is influencing the value of the dollar. "If the currency goes down, it's an indication that there's something very significantly wrong with the economy of that particular country and I think you're seeing that right now," Paul says. "If you look at many great nations and great empires, when they faltered their currency faltered. That's what they saw when the British pound lost prominence, the British Empire fell apart."

"As a matter of fact if I had my way I would protect those who have become dependent until we straighten out our mess domestically," Paul says. "I think that if we don't we're really going to hurt the poor people."

The political pandering just has no boundaries for Dr. Ron does it?

"and a war we're not winning,"

Let's ask Saddam and the Republican Guard if the war is turning into a rout for Americans... Everyone join hands, and let's listen for the voices of the spirits...

Oh, right, they're dead. War's won.

“loon alert”

is being kind!

“Paul says the biggest issue of the day is foreign policy “and a war we’re not winning,” but he says government spending is linked to the war — and that spending is influencing the value of the dollar.”

War tends to pump UP the economy. People living beyond their means ... credit ... SUBprime mortgage ballooning interests rates causing foreclosures tends to pump DOWN the economy. As for Iraq, poor Ron Paul ... to earth Ron Paul ... to your dismay ... WE ARE WINNING!

That's what they saw when the British pound lost prominence, the British Empire fell apart."

So does that mean that the empire is back now, along with the pound?

If you are impressed with Ron Paul, you are easily impressed.

What we need is a pledge from this Don Quixote that he won’t go a-tilting at 3rd-party style windmills. That would put the hildebeeste in power. And she will do whatever it takes to get him to run. That is the most crucial matter in the world today, IMOH.

You think Libertarian Republicans will vote RP the way they voted for Perrot? I don’t think so. If anything, RP perhaps will attract the anti-war crowd more than he attracts libertarians. In 1992, Bill Clinton ran as ‘middle road’ Democrats. As a relatively unknown candidate, he could do that. Hillary cannot do the same today.

In a word, yes. Besides, all it would take for hildebeeste to slurp at the White House trough again would be any name perceptibly to the right of her heinouss, placed on the November 08 ballot. The protest votes alone would shoo her in. I'm certain that her people are working on it with time, money and ass-kissing.

. “If you look at many great nations and great empires, when they faltered their currency faltered. That’s what they saw when the British pound lost prominence, the British Empire fell apart.”

*******************

The British empire fell apart because they didn’t treat their colonies as equal British citizens.

Foreign states have voluntarilly joined the Union, because we give them equal protection under the law. Some have postulated that Canada would have eventually joined the US if it werent for the war of 1812.

What does government living beyond its means mean?

Saying that War pumps up an economy is like the theory of broken windows. If someone throws a rock through your window, you have to replace it. That means you spend money, which helps the economy. However, you are worse off. The net effect is negative.

Pretty hard to say that the destruction of capital requiring people to spend their own capital to bring them back to the same level is productive to an economy.

I wonder if I should do this. I have a pair of black MC boots with red boot laces. Does anybody else here have black boots with red shoelaces? Do you feel like bashing and stomping on idiots? Yeah, I met the nicest bunch of lads around.
