I can very reasonably argue that BECAUSE the President stood his ground, this recent break through became possible.

??? You suggesting they wouldn't have discovered this without his opposition?

Well I certainly wonder if they would. Why bother if they had "easy" access to embryos?

Yes, science often follows the path of least resistance because that is the starting point for assumptions. If the “known science” indicates that you can only get stem cells from embryos and it is ok to get stem cells from embryos .... why on earth would you want to invest time, money and effort in trying to revert adult skin cells to the stage required?

Bush Bears Fruit -- New discoveries pave the way for ethical stem-cell research, thanks to the president’s policies.

I believe that many of these exciting “alternative” methods would not have been achieved but for President Bush’s stalwart stand promoting ethical stem-cell research. Indeed, had the president followed the crowd instead of leading it, most research efforts would have been devoted to trying to perfect ESCR and human-cloning research — which, despite copious funding, have not worked out yet as scientists originally hoped.

It would have still been discovered but it takes need to make most good discoveries. Glad Bush stood his ground on federal funding for killing embryos to cure us of our ills.

(Remember that some good inventions for picking crops come from places where there is no “slave class” to do it. One for picking grapes came from Australia. We’d up our crop-picking technology and get a lot of human feces out of the orchards if we’d let up a little on our overuse of underpaid illegal aliens.)

But yes, G-d ALWAYS gives us, in every dilemma, at least one GOOD CHOICE to make. He would never leave us with ONLY the choice of killing a baby to cure a sick adult. NEVER. He taught us to always CHOOSE LIFE.

Actually I remember reading of stem cell development from adult cells several years ago. Why this has never been given much coverage is strange. I always wondered why the continuing argument for fetal stem cell research since there didn’t seem to be any need for it.
