So why do we care if retailers don’t link shopping, shopping, shopping with Christmas? Just cook up a batch of fruit cakes to send to friends and family. ;)

I (for one) don't. The only thing I want to hear out of the retailer's mouth is, "Can I help you find something?"

The mass commercialization of religious holidays is something that Christians will someday really come to regret someday, IMO. Our family has cut back drastically on the "stuff & shopping" aspect, and frankly I think we are a lot better off. I don't need Wal*Mart to wish me a "Merry Christmas", as it has no meaning.

The Good News is not that there is sale on wide-screen TVs.

The “War on Christmas” folks are just ITCHING to find something or someone to offend them.
