Recently in New Hampshire, Sen. Hillary Clinton, Sen. Barack Obama and former Sen. John Edwards affirmed that King & King, a homosexual fairy tale, was appropriate for 2nd-graders. King & King is a picture book about a prince seeking a princess to marry. To his mother's surprise, he decides to marry one of the princesses' brothers instead. The book has caused controversy in districts where teachers have read it to elementary school children. In Massachusetts, parents protested the book without success even though the state requires parental notification before sex ed lessons.
"Same-sex marriage is legal in Massachusetts but most of you oppose it. Would you be comfortable having this story read to your children as part of their school curriculum?" asked Allison King of New England Cable News at the debate. "Yes, absolutely," was Edwards's resounding reply. "I want my children to understand everything about the difficulties that gay and lesbian couples are faced with every day. . . . I don't want to impose my view. Nobody made me God," he explained. Edwards did promise that although he opposes gay marriage, he will extend to homosexual couples all benefits available to married heterosexual ones, will do away with the Defense of Marriage Act and will abolish the U.S. military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.
Obama agreed with Edwards and added his signature rhetoric of hope, reason and tolerance opposing fear, conflict and division. "I really respect what both John and Barack said," affirmed Sen. Clinton. She did not answer the question directly, but urged respect for other people and their choices, and passage of the federal Hate Crimes bill. "We haven't been able to get it passed, and it is an important measure to send a message that we stand against hatred and divisiveness. And I think that, you know, that's what the Democratic Party stands for in contrast, all too often, to the other side."
Republican primary candidate Mitt Romney criticized the Democrats' responses. "This is a subject that should be left to parents, not public school teachers. We need to strengthen our families by passing a federal marriage amendment and also insisting on marriage before having children." Romney has already sparred with Obama on sex ed and the appropriateness of sex ed topics for kindergarten students.

“Hi, I’m Mitt Romney. Everyone thinks I’m not a ‘true’ conservative, so I’m going to take some positions calculated to garner support amongst my detractors and appease the Religious Right.”
The travelers happily tramp through the wilderness and paddle down a river, observing the wildlife as they go. Before long, they have a strange feeling that something is following them. Upon returning home, they discover another stowaway in their suitcase-this time it's a young girl from the jungle, whom they joyfully adopt and everyone lives happily ever after.
The mixed-media collage illustrations are colorful with lots to look at on each page-perhaps too much, as some of the spreads are a bit cluttered. Bertie's travel diary is reproduced on the book's centerfold, hinting at the surprise ending. The text is brief and fun, and the relationships are treated matter-of-factly.
However, children may wonder why the men do not try to find the little girl's family, or check to see if anyone is searching for her. All in all, this story about a nontraditional family is a bit heavy-handed...(reviewed by children's librarian)
Liberals suck literally

Bump for Monday.
This is all part of the Romney legacy.
Under a future Clinton “hate crimes” statute, a parent would be subject to civil and criminal penalties for opting their child out of reading “King and King”. Fines, imprisonment and lost custody of that child would result. Bet on it. That is where the left is heading.
Hi, I’m weak but better. As soon as I get off the antibiotics I need blood work again. But I will be ok, I always bounce back. Have a great weekend ~Pandy~

This book (once again) represents the “essentialist” view of sexuality, a central dogma of the left, which promotes the idea that people are simply born with certain feelings — emotional, romantic, and sexual — that define who a person “is.” Activists claim that the book does not contain any sex, but the equation of emotional feelings to sexual behavior is all part of the essentialist view.
This, however, is the real fairy tale, since it ignores how psychological and cultural factors shape people sexually as well as their sexual behavior.
For instance, how come Grimm and Hans Christian Anderson never wrote fairy tales about men falling in love and living happily ever after? Because the concept of homosexuality didn’t exist in their time. Sodomy as an act may have existed, but intense same-sex relationships in their time (according to cultural historians) were much more likely to have been platonic, of the romantic friendship variety, than sexual. This book is anachronistic.
Oh, this is JUST SICK!
You can understand, just by this one thing alone, why neither the Marxist b*tch, nor the apostate muslim, nor the Silky Pony deserve the keys to the White House!
ROTFLOL! I forgot about that movie. Thanks!
It is a great deal more than that...
17) Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for Socialism, and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers associations. Put the party line in text books.
26) Present homosexuality, degeneracy, and promiscuity as "normal, natural, and healthy."
According to the book, the prince first rejects all the princesses because they look like Hillary.
