I fully agree. I adopted four siblings horribly neglected and abused — found in inhumane conditions with their birthparents in a home you read about on the news, with animal feces stacked up and trash and filth. Kids hadn’t bathed in weeks — clothes disinigrating off their little filthy bodies. Girls’ hair was matted — had to be cut off — baby’s legs covered in dead cockroach parts, etc. They are thriving in my care — loving, able to give and receive love, happy, joyful, etc.
It is possible — through the grace and love of God, who rescued them — and who brought them into my life, to change ME also. They are amazing.
Lord willing, this little boy will be loved, and will do fine. He’s a scrappy little fighter, for sure.
Thank you for doing what you have.
Someone close to me was sexually and physically abused by her “father” for her entire childhood. She has struggled with it but appears to finally be in the process of realizing the best revenge possible on him is to have a happy life anyway.
