After reading through this rather extensive thread, I must say that this is the best post in the entire thread.

People on this thread keep saying, “Sign the ticket and be on your way.” But if singing the ticket is an admission of guilt, then why in the world should I admit to something that I didn’t do for the sake of expediency?

I agree with you; blindly supporting cops, especially when their behavior is completely out of line, is not a conservative trait. It’s fascist and the beginning of a police state.

Thank you -

I consider myself a real conservative, in the sense that the moral and ethical values that formed our nation should be preserved. I believe that we have watched a steady erosion of those values and our freedoms with them, these last few decades.

The most sobering of all has been the very real division between our government and the rest of us when all of us were meant to be part of our government.

This incident with this police officer is just one part of this sad evolution - the young man was too questioning, too full of himself and the police officer hurt him in front of his family for no other reason than to show him his place in the new hierarchy.

This officer and others like him need to be removed from office and replaced with others that understand what this country really means and the value of all of its citizens.

This is as good a place as any to reverse this tide, back to our country and freedom.
