If you won’t sign, you are refusing to post bond and the officer can take you into custody.

In NH there is no provision for the driver to sign the ticket. They plea guilty by paying the fine, or not and get a court date.

Washington state doesnt require signatures any more on tickets. Just one more little bit of our freedoms taken away. I always liked to sign mine “(under duress)All right reserved - my name” cops always gave me a look when they saw that. Now I cant anymore.

No, they have to take you for a probable cause hearing; unless you have shot your mouth off and confessed or they have found enough evidence to arrest you.
