140 deaths out of 40,000 applications (per the guy on Fox News).

I’ll take those odds against any other device the officer has on his belt.

A taser is not a “lethal” device because it isn’t designed as such and the statistics support that.

Just one death resulting from the correct use of a taser and it's a lethal device.

The manufacturers do not say tasers are not lethal. They are merely less likely to be lethal.

Think of it this way. A gun is not lethal unless you fire it and manage to hit someone who then dies. Otherwise, it just sits there just minding its own business.

Are you saying in a town of 40,000 people tazed it is acceptible to kill 140 people. In my buisness, which is general and trauma surgery, committing an action which directly results in 140 deaths is not acceptible. This officer does not deserve to remain on the police force.
