his career is over. for what?

for being a risk to the community. he cant handle a simple traffic stop without escalating it?

you don't get to taser traffic stops because the guy doesn't agree with you and who are not showing themselves a danger to you or someone else.

i spoke to admin people at the Utah Patrol hdqrts. They have been bombarded with calls. Want another reason? thats why. Its important to all of us that the cops be respected and perceived as fair, not rogue bullies.

He didn’t get the taser for speeding.
He didn’t get the taser for a ticket.
He didn’t get the taser for a “disagreement”.

He got the taser for not submitting to the lawful order of a cop to submit.

Once you admit that the guy was resisting arrest, the rest of the anecdotal bullshit falls apart.

So the cop didn’t break any law, but did violate a gray area under administative discretion. Bad publicity, bad image, etc.

Plausible reason for firing, but might run afoul of the union.

Thank you for saying that. That should be repeated over and over. If people lose respect for the guys out there who protect us, and feel that they are not to be trusted, we WILL have chaos.
