I watched the video. The officer did not tell the man he was under arrest, nor did he warn him before tasering. Later the officer told the other officer (who arrived after the tasering) that he warned the man before tasering him but this is not true. I think the man who was tasered deserves compensation and the officer who tasered him should be disciplined.

That cop was totally out of control. He tells the man to turn around and then tazes him in the back.

An officer doesn’t have to list charges before he tries to cuff a suspect.
And the fact that the tazer was pointed at the doofus was warning enough. If doofus wants to try to walk away, he’s just asking for it.

Officer was right.
Doofus was wrong-o.

The police officer also tazed the guy in the back while he was walking away after cop pulled the tazer gun at the guy.

There was no signs the guy was a threat to the police officer and the officer would not read this guy his rights .. even after several requests

The officer asked him at least THREE times for his license and registration at the beginning and the driver refused and was argumentative.

The driver was rebellous throughout the entire encounter.

While the officer was talking to the driver, the driver had his foot on the brake, perhaps thinking of driving away. When the officer wasn’t next to the car, the drivers foot wasn’t on the brake.

After the officer told the driver to get out of the car, the driver was still arguing and refusing to cooperate.

When the officer told the driver to stop, the driver insulted the officer and kept walking away.

Placing his hands in his pockets may have indicated an attempt to get or use a weapon.

The Driver must obey the officer and in this case, the driver is clearly in the wrong.

Even though the officer hadn’t yet advised the driver that he was under arrest, the officer was clearly in the process of placing him under arrest and the driver was refusing and walking away.

If a perp tries to shoot an officer before the officer tells him he is under arrest, that doesn’t prevent the officer from using whatever force is necessary to protect himself or to complete the arrest.

This incident is completely the drivers fault and the officer was in the right.

I do not approve or engourage misconduct by any police officers and I hold them to the highest standards and yet, I also realize the tough situations that they are sometimes faced with and the decisions they must make under fire.

In this case, I support the officer.

In a recent case where officers clearly raided the wrong house and killed the family’s pet, I support strong discipline against the officers because the house was clearly marked and they continued to harrass the residents even after they knew they were in the wrong house which was clearly marked.

In the second case, they had no warrent for that house and they committed illegal entry. They were voilating the citizens rights.

While the police have every right to enforce the laws and aer given great authority to do so, they are also given great ersponsibility to not misuse that authority either deliberately or accidentially.

Nonsense. The man who was tasered is a jerk. Anyone with a drivers license should know that you must sign a ticket when given. Only some jerk with an attitude would refuse to follow the law and give attitude. This jerk deserved what he got and so do so many others in our society who treat officers just trying to do their job like garbage.
I’ll never side with people with attitudes who give officers of the law attitude at every opportunity.

I’m willing to bet that this jerk has a record of some sort. This obviously is not the first time he has dealt with officers of the law.

I caught that, the officer lied when he was explaining what happened to the second cop. Looks very bad to me. And I usually support cops.

At some point...regular citizens are going to be all armed with Tasers...and I think the cops are going to realize how they influenced us to this point. I don’t see this as a positive...for example...if a wife gets upset with a drunk husband...Taser the dude. If a teacher gets upset with a hostile student...Taser the dude. We will invite all kinds of health investigations...because I doubt its a good thing to blasted...and five or six of these events in your life...might take a year off your expectations.

Plus I heard no rights being read and the cop tells him he is going to jail for speeding....not resisting or anything else. This entire situation was blown out of proportion.
