Mrs. Tick and I are looking for worthy charities, as well — thanks for starting this thread.

In particular we’d like to find some good ones that help out our military folks.

SandRat posted yesterday regarding a group that builds housing for disabled soldiers. That one looks pretty good:

The VFW has 3 good ones- Military Assistance Program (MAP), Operation Uplink (phone cards), and Unmet Needs (grants for military folks having a hard time financially).

America Supports You is a DOD site listing many worthwhile charities supporting our troops and their families, both here in the States and deployed overseas. My favorites from their list include:

Operation Gratitude

Proud Patriots

Any Soldier
