However, the writer is evidently ignorant of the fact that we don't live in a democracy. We have a republic - if we can keep it.
Finally, the author insists he was dishonest when he first walked away from the agitator groups, but is being honest now. When someone admits to lying, which part is the lie? The original, or the mea culpa?
There are limits to that, eg., Lee Harvey Oswald, Timothy McVeigh, Texas Tower Sniper, Benedict Arnold, etc.
