What I notice about this poll is that there are dozens of more outlandish doctrines that could have been mentioned..the first vision and the "need to "restore" the priesthood authority, the "as man is God once was, as God is man may become", the Kolob foolishness etc. You would think, that with the Warren Jeff's trial just being in the news that polygamy would have been mentioned.
I thought the subjects that were addressed were quite benign. a "testing of the waters" along with a "Mitt the underdog" ploy to gain sympathy and possibly votes.
Very good pick-up. I noticed this exact thing to the point that when an LDS poster accused several of us as having the orientation to have made these calls ourselves (he said, had we the $), he pinpointed three of us. My response?
(Oh, and just so you can properly sensitize us as to which LDS subjects are meant to be off limits, which of the sub-topics raised by these calls most offended you? Just bringing up the Book of Mormon? The ban on black bishops? Or baptizing dead folks? Golly Gee, maybe you should encourage LDS HQ to send out a press release that any discussion on these topics is offensive to Mormons)
I mean if just raising the issues of the Book of Mormon, a "ban on black bishops," and baptizing dead folks is so offensive to Mitt & to LDS, what would happen once the MSM gets beyond such relatively benign topics?
