Romney Calls Attacks on His Faith Un-American

Mitt Romney called attempts to undermine him by questioning his Mormon faith "un-American" as he spoke to reporters in Nevada yesterday. Romney was specifically responding to reported "push-poll" phone calls being made in Iowa and New Hampshire, in which the calls reportedly begin as opinion polls but turn into statements and questions designed to highlight and cast doubt on Romney's Mormon faith. Here is what Romney had to say.....(Video)

FC, Ann’s parent was present dsuring the sessions. I think that precludes this being ‘brainwashing without consent’. And the many years of a successful marriage and great family are far more telling than the way it all began. Please, stop this denigrating of the Romney marriage and Ann in particular. Let it go, great one.

I must agree with Mr. Romney on this one. My primary concern with ANY candidate is from where do they get their core values, and for what causes they have fought in their political life before their bid for the presidency.

Neither does it preclude ‘brainwashing WITH consent’. Say you had a 15 year old daughter who got a hankering to become a Scientologist. Would you think her competent, even with you present, to have an auditor come over for six sessions? Just so you could get her married off to the son of a presidential candidate?

More to the point though, has the marriage been a sterling success? Yes, I think you could say that and Ann is no shrinking violet in the Mittster shadow. She has five very fine sons to show for a successful household, too.

I’m referring to His teaching of the people during His earthly ministry. His Church existed as soon as He organized it with His Apostles. His followers were what later became known as Christians as soon as the Law of Moses was fulfilled through the Atonement, but He converted them to the faith.

Indeed; it’s an Achilles’ heel of the INTJ personality type. I’m still trying to figure all that out. The fundamental issue is that I find social ritual pointless, so I really don’t understand it.

I’ve got faith, though, and I’m getting better each day. It’ll all work out.

Yeah, I really liked how I put together that sentence. I think I did a terrific job, even if I do say so myself. I have a wonderful command of written English, and I’m able to communicate my thoughts effectively whenever I’m of a mind to do so. I appreciate it when I find my positive traits noticed.

Good catch! You’ve successfully put the concepts together. Yes, taunting with reason, respect, and patience is a delicate art, one whose mastery requires a great deal of practice and perseverance to acquire.

Seems you have more faith in personality profiling than the Lord. Why don't you go to him and see why your personality is keeping you from fullfilling your greatest mission in life (at least according to the Mormon Prophet - see “The Family: A Proclamation to the World”)

Of course I agree with the apostle Paul when he said in 1 Corinthians 7:8 Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am. 9 But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.
