If the U.S. is getting ready to switch to the “Amero”, by creating a crisis situation by radically devaluing our currency — then perhaps the first step in this kind of process is to get rid of any other means of storing the value of your hard-earned labor, by getting rid of these kinds of coins where people could keep a reasonable value of their labor — by means of, at least, the silver content in the coin itself — and then the amount of silver that they had backing the amount you bought (for the coin).

To get people to readily switch over to the “Amero” the U.S. Government definitely cannot allow any significant number of people to run around with a “store of value” in coins, that’s for sure.

You said — “ They took every scrap of paper, every possible record. Everything that would be needed to continue the business and to defend themselves.”

Well, that’s something for people to keep in mind, about their own affairs. It’s a good idea to keep an identical set of papers and materials and whatever else is needed, “offsite” and not something that is commonly known (i.e., secret locations), and also keep money set aside in the same way.

The government is not necessarily “about justice” — as much as it is about hampering you to the point of making it impossible to defend yourself, even if you are right. In other words, the government is not about justice, but about winning (on their part). That’s their mentality — win at all costs, no matter whether it’s justice or not.

You said — “Probably because anybody who bought into this scam were either too stupid to know they were scammed, or too embarrassed to admit it.”

Well, I bought one, because it did have silver content and it was interesting and I thought I would like one of them. I was aware of what they were doing, according to their material on their website.

I can’t see or fathom how I was either scammed or too embarrassed about it. It doesn’t seem to be a problem as far as I’m concerned. Can you tell me how it’s a problem for me?

You asked — “Do you think that any reasonable person would think that the Liberty dollar was a United States issued coin? If so, why?”

I looked at one, examined what was going on, read up, and was never under the impression that this was a United States issued coin. I can’t see how anyone could ever come to that conclusion. Of course there are idiots in the world and especially in the United States (some might even think the moon is made of green cheese, too). But, idiots should not be allowed to run the life of the rest of the citizens, just because you might be able to get some dimwit to say in court he thought it was a U.S. coin... LOL! Of course, the government itself is composed of some of those same kinds of dimwits, unfortunately.

I was happy to get one, thought it was very interesting, and I got more silver in that coin than I’ve ever gotten in any jewelry that I’ve ever purchased and thus had more value in that one coin than all the other “fake jewelry” (even the ones pretending to be “real”).

It’s really the government making sure that they get rid of all other “stores of value” (which are not easily devalued) when the U.S. Government “foists” the Amero upon us...

I have no problem with you throwing your money away, if you knew what you were doing. Most of the people that were being scammed didn’t though.

Well, heck, it’s not like I don’t pee out more money than that in a few days from soft drinks and gatorade and other liquids than I did getting some real silver contained in that coin. At least the coin was still worth some real money. The urine, on the other hand, didn’t get me much of anything... LOL!

Some people make it out to be that this has got to be less valuable and more crazy than the urine that I pee out everyday... LOL!

Yes, the fed gov will sell you that for ~ $800 bucks (actually they stopped selling them in September according to their website), but if you use it to pay your taxes, they will only credit you for $50.

Who's scamming whom?

Good point, and then some.

It may be uncomfortable, but paper dollars tend to gain a lot of zeros.

Then the government just lops off three zeroes, and everyone calms down again and goes back to their soap operas.

Debauchery, thy name is government.

I likened the dollar collapse on another forum. I said that if the government was in charge of the Titanic, they would tell us to put our seat belts on. No humor at all there!

What's the "scam?"

Are you saying that a PR70DCAM or PR69DCAM should not be priced more than a few percent higher than spot?

This item contains 1/2 ounce of .9999 fine gold in the form of a single boxed $10 Abagail Adams flawless deep-cameo proof gold piece, or about $400 worth of gold at spot.

Care to guess what its retail price is?

The irony is that in the past 50 years, while the value of the dollar has shrunk, the dollar-denominated value of the largest banknote has shrunk tenfont (from $1,000 to $100), as has the amount of money one can exchange without reporting.

The irony is that in the past 50 years, while the value of the dollar has shrunk, the dollar-denominated value of the largest banknote has shrunk tenfold (from $1,000 to $100), as has the amount of money one can exchange without reporting.

This, too, serves the purpose of government. From the pen of Ayn Rand:

“The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.”

When it finally takes $10,000 to buy a gallon of gas, the government will wind up with a comprehensive mandatory reporting system on all financial transactions in the country.

And another example of the perversity of steady inflation is the Alternative Minimum Tax:

When Congress discovered that 155 wealthy Americans were paying no federal income taxes, it passed the alternative minimum tax (AMT) in 1969.

... * Two million taxpayers will be subject to it this tax year.

* About half of them have incomes of $30,000 to $100,000.

* A decade from now, 8.8 million taxpayers will have to pay the AMT and another 2.8 million will not receive the full value of deductions available to other taxpayers, estimates Congress' Joint Committee on Taxation.

* And the number of households making $30,000 to $50,000 who must pay the AMT will triple in the coming decade, Treasury Department economists Robert Rebelein and Jerry Tempalski calculated recently.

I guess I took guidance from the federal agents who seized all the property that was supposed to back the certificates before having all the facts and allegations vetted in a court of law under a system of due process.

You talk a good game, but your facts are wanting.

Under our system of laws, a duly processed warrant is due process (did you even bother to read the warrant linked to the article?)

So I guess you got everything you could have wanted.

On what basis do they allege that the certificates are unbacked or unredeemable?

Read the warrant linked to the article. The audits were not conducted for almost two years. The Company had to find a new auditing agency.

Read the warrant linked to the article. The audits were not conducted for almost two years. The Company had to find a new auditing agency.

Think it's coincidence that the FBI has been infiltrating and investigating them for about the same amount of time? A little threat and pressure against the CPA firm to get them to run the other direction and leave them high and dry?

The website, however, explains the situation in this document, the January 2007 - which indicates that the audit disruption took place about the same time as the warning from the US Mint over which the lawsuit against the Mint was filed, and the abrupt departure of the new Liberty Dollar Executive Director, who if I'm remembering correctly, was subsequently replaced by an FBI plant.

But of course, given that FBI, which promoted Vicki Weaver's murderer, is always forthright, honest, and above board, I'm sure that misconduct on their part had nothing to do with it. Right?

And once the audit was finally completed, by the way, the CPA firm found absolutely nothing amiss.

I can't wait to see the inventory of what was seized.

Prediction: there will be a LOT less gold and silver on the inventory list than what Liberty's records show were present. Some of Liberty's property will have been "liberated."

Those feds may be ignorant but they're not stupid. They know a valuable thing when they see it.
