    Contributing a song to what is essentially a promotional CD is not that noteworthy. The songs tend not to be hits to boot.
Obviously, some of these artists have done a lot more in other ways, but let’s keep in perspective the actual contribution here.

    The Billy Joel and Melissa Etheridge numbers certainly qualify as legitimate hits. Those more familiar than I with the remaining artists will have to speak as to whether or not the other selections do, as well.
