If Fred did the unexpected thing and worked out a deal now or soon with Hunter for the VP slot with an early announcement I think it would get Thompson the nomination. I don’t think many people other than grassroots conservatives realize the power of putting up a true conservative for office (all the “smart money” was flabbergasted by Reagan . . . they called him teflon . . . and all he was was conservative).
I agree. Thompson/Hunter is a sure fire winner.
Sorry, I won't be voting for Fred, even if Hunter were to be his VP. It would lower my opinion of Hunter, not raise my opinion of Fred. BTW, I doubt that Hunter would accept such a thing.
