KABUL, Afghanistan — A teenage boy who was teaching English at a local school was dragged into the street and executed by Taliban militants, the provincial police chief reported.

The brutal killing sparked a clash that left two suspected Islamist fighters and two policemen dead, an official said.

"The boy, who was teaching English to other students after school hours, had been warned by the militants to stop teaching," provincial police chief Esmatuallh Alizai said.

Taliban militants have killed several teachers and students in the past for attending the government-run schools, which they regard as un-Islamic.

We need an additional 4000-8000 soldiers / Marines in Stan to really finish off these last elements of the Taliban (of course there will always be mountain militants of sorts in this region).

But a new "surge" in Stan would be very timely - The progress throughout Stan is remarkable on the whole (since 01).....but a new offensive into the last remaining Taliban AOs would be extremely effective.

The book The Kite Runner has a vivid indication of how the Taliban react with pulling people into the streets and putting a bullet in their head - if your family complains, they reload their gun and repeat the exercise.

The problem with Afghanistan is that there aren't really any clear-cut "good guys." The Taliban are only slightly more barbaric in their traditions than the residents they terrorize. Even if every last Taliban were killed, Afghanistan would still be a country of honor killings, stonings, amputations, punitive rape and other "civilized" traditions of the "enlightened" tribal people who reside there.

Such observations could be considered true (and are to a degree) throughout much of the world. Be it Africa, SE Asia, and the ME.

Reality is though, Stan has come a tremendous way since 01. There are plenty of good people there, who want a better life......who are willing to sacrifice for such a life...because of the opportunity our warriors are providing them.

The Taliban and AQ are in a league of their own. They must be taken out and Stan will continue to progress....and will not be a NS concern any longer to us.

Well, look at the bright side. Millions of inner city "youts" will be safe from the Taliban in America because they can't/won't speak English....
...er...wait a sec.

From behind the closed doors of CAIR, applause is heard.

Perhaps, but why focus on the negative side of this story?

This VERY brave young man stood up to the Islamofascists, and continued doing the right thing, despite the threats and intimidation of the Tali-COWARDS.

Yes, it did cost him his young life, but he died just as honorable a a death as ANY soldier in ANY war. He knew what was at stake, and stood up for what is right.

I tip my hat to him, applaud with all my strength, and hope I can acquit myself half as well should such a trial of will is ever my lot.

There is no doubt in my mind that even if this fellow were muslim, God will have him in his grace.

Moron Taliban.
A really stupid move when Afghanistan is one place most of the
"Anglosphere" actually participates directly in clearing out
pukes like the Taliban.

As long as we continue to take prisoners, and let them go free again, there will always be the Taliban and Al-Qaeda. I don’t see the terrorists taking prisoners and let them live.
