Here are the Red State Democrats who voted no:
Baucus (D-MT)
Bayh (D-IN)
Bingaman (D-NM)
Byrd (D-WV)
Conrad (D-ND)
Dorgan (D-ND)
Harkin (D-IA)
Johnson (D-SD)
Landrieu (D-LA)
Lincoln (D-AR)
McCaskill (D-MO)
Nelson (D-FL)
Nelson (D-NE)
Pryor (D-AR)
Reid (D-NV)
Rockefeller (D-WV)
Salazar (D-CO)
Webb (D-VA)
Good luck defeating ANY of them. Seems to me many of them won election or reelection by slim margins just last year. But hey, we were just punishing RINOs, right? And if the Republican voters in the upcoming primaries DARE to elect Guiliani as the GOP candidate, the TRUE BLUES will show them by letting Hillary win.
Actions have consequences.
TNCMAXQ, spot on!
Yes indeed. I have to wonder how many “disaffected” Republicans stayed home and gave us senators like Webb, Tester, McCaskill, et al. Pretty sad.
Many Demo senators who voted for surrender here are from states that went only narrowly for Bush in ‘04. I doubt for example that we will ever get creeps like Rockefeller out. He and others will probably never retire. We might have a shot at getting Landrieu out but that’s about it. Maybe Johsnon can be beaten—in 2014. Looks like he is secure for next year and that is a shame. Unless Marc Racicot or Dennis Rehberg take on Baucus, he will be in office for life too.
