I think I had it last winter. I had one cold for about 3 weeks, then got another one before I got over the first one. I was sick for 2 whole months!

This bug is very insidious with a low fever but very severe upper respiratory impact. At times I felt as if I was going to drown in my own fluids. My wife (physician) diagnosed it based on a type of facial glandular swelling. The worst part of the infection is that it can lead to Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), which has a fatality rate of over 50%. This is not a bug to be joking about.

If you get the bug it acts like a super cold over the first eight hours. I used almost two boxes of kleenix the first day. After 24 hours the fluid build up and coughing begins. I found myself coughing (productive) so hard I felt I was going to faint. I found it almost impossible to sleep because of the coughing. If you get the bug do not go out. It is extremely infectious. My wife brought it home from one of her patients at the hospital she works at.

Unless you need emergency medical support stay home and away from love ones until it passes. I read that this bug can take up to almost six (6) months (noninfectious) to fully recover from. I believe it.
