To me they are far more evocative of the United We Fail ads from AARP, which use kids to advocate for more handouts for Senior Citizens than they are of the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth campaign.

And, of course, the SVT campaign was factually based. These are just appeals to emotion, like the AARP campaign.
