To: Attention Surplus Disorder
The paper money issued by these guys was an unbridled, blatant, gross, and ten-other-adjective scam.

Why? If you can redeem the paper for specie in accordance with the terms on the paper, how is that a scam?

Because: If I am Best Buy and sell you a $50 gift certificate good at Best Buy, there is no problem. If I tell you that said gift cert is redeemable at Costco, then I am misrepresenting the redeemability of said piece of “currency”. The printed claim(s) on the paper (which I can’t read well because the pieces of same are piled on top of each other in the pix on this thread, obscuring some text) is that the pieces of currency are legal tender and broadly redeemable, which is flat out not true.
