I’m not sure if you noticed, but Ron Paul is a U.S. Congressman who’s running for President. Throwing out press releases every time some kook, nutball, or suspected criminal uses his name is probably not the best or most efficient use of his time.
Do you think President Bush was involved in a 9/11 conspiracy because he hasn’t personally taken the time to publicly denounce every single crank loony website that says he was? Most people realize that national public figures attract all sorts of attention, and that it’s foolish to assume connections with every single person that proclaims their support just because the public figure hasn’t taken the time to specifically and publicly reject that person.
This particular kook is not merely using his name, but is using his likeness in a scam that he is running and also claiming that his scam is intended to be a source of independent contributions to Ron Paul's presidential campaign.
Honorable people respond to such activity as a black mark on their good name.
All the more reason to try to protect his likeness, name and **ahem** 'reputation.'

If they claimed he agreed with them and endorsed them, I have no doubt a denial would go out.
L.Ron doesn't care about taking neo-nazi money and he doesn't care about being associated with this. The most plausible explanation for this is that he agrees with the anti-Israeli sentiments of the former and the howling goldbug nuttery of the latter.
