I just goooogled it and from what I can see, it's a lot like the John Galt Dollar in Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged. .........

"Waiting to see how many posters are AOK with this theft of private property by our government." Or, wait until you see how many posters believe the first thing they hear.

First reports are frequently erroneous. First reports from the "aggrieved" party are almost always erroneous, or at least missing key information.

Defrauding people with a fake currency? Sounds like a legit reason to me.

Ummmmm......maybe that is why Gold is down $20.00 today. :-)
To: Red Badger
Why it’s the the second most popular currency in the country!
To: Mad_Tom_Rackham
Nope, they are bullion metal, $1 rounds/coins are 1 tr oz pure copper, the $10 (now $20) coins are 1 tr oz .999 silver.

There is a currency in use in Austin, Texas that shops accept as legal tender to make purchases of food, gas and some merchandise. It is suppose to be gaining some ground. Question is, will the FBI raid this place as well?

After doing a little “research”, I can see why. Real gold and silver and platinum backed notes and solid metal coins.................

Only freakin morons think it is okay for any nut group to print their own currency for circulation. I am glad these peaceniks have had their currency taken and they are being monitored.

Ahh, the infamous Republic of Texas dollars. That is a scam started by the ‘interim president’ of the Republic a few years ago. They may not have been stopped yet because they are only used by a few kooks for trading and not sold as a fake legal tender on a national level.

So says the U.S. Mint, which would like to remind Liberty Dollar users that since the United States already has its own currency, the only thing Liberty Dollars buy in these parts is a jail term. If this is true (a huge if, at this point), I don't understand why. People in a lot of towns (Ithaca NY, for one) commonly introduce paper notes that can to be used as money within the town, to encourage people to shop locally. Is that illegal too?
To: mnehrling
Fake? Actual gold/silver coinage and warehouse receipts are "fake"?
Don't let your hatred of all things Ron Paul completely bleed out your intelligence.

For approximately six hours they took all the gold, all the silver, all the platinum and almost two tons of Ron Paul Dollars that where just delivered last Friday. They also took all the files, all the computers and froze our bank accounts.
We have no money. We have no products. We have no records to even know what was ordered or what you are owed. We have nothing but the will to push forward and overcome this massive assault on our liberty and our right to have real money as defined by the US Constitution. We should not to be defrauded by the fake government money.

Not everything they were selling were gold/silver coinage. They were also issuing 'paper' bills.
As someone noted earlier, they've taken their store down.
