What earthly difference does it make what time of day one gets one’s mail. Somebody needs to get a life.

Amen to that. People here need to get hit in the head with a 2x4 if they think that even being nasty at a late mail delivery on the first day after a holiday is justifiable, let alone having the mailman shot. Its not like the guy came around at 1 AM and it was thought that he was a burglar. COME ON!.

I once had to handle a complaint a guy made regarding not getting his usual mail delivery on Sunday somewhere in rural Kansas.

That was shortly after USPS was set up to replace the old Post Office Department.

Turned out some people in Kansas got rural delivery on Sunday because their Senator/Congresscritter had "intervened" and convinced POD that they'd best do that or their budget would have trouble from him.

Took a good 15 years to extirpate that sort of garbage from delivery services, but now I think there's delivery only 6 days a week (at most).
