Oh, but I would like to remind you, “we the people” are the government. That doesn’t mean we all individually have authority to take justice into our own hands. It does mean that we help shape the laws and form the opinions of government.
Something’s so very wrong with this picture . . . 44-year-old woman with grown kids, hooking up with a 25-year-old man. He’s 19 years younger than her. Bet he’s the age her older children are.
The only reason their redemption can happen is because those horrible miserable sins can be punished via Jesus' death on the cross. In that way their sin absolutely does not go unpunished. It's just the punishment is transferred to Jesus when they truly repent and believe. I suspect many of those types of converts haven't got it in them to really believe and they just do it as a just in case effort. God knows their heart and only true faith will save.
As for the decent person you speak of...she too can be forgiven. But if she stands before God on the basis of her own merit, her own righteousness, she just won't measure up. No one will. The only hope anyone has is, to quote a hymn, Jesus blood and righteousness. Only Christ was righteous and only by having His righteousness imputed to your account can you or anyone else be redeemed Judgement Day.
It’s not for us to deny anyone salvation. I personally doubt that either of these two have the capacity to truly take Jesus up on his offer, but the offer stands none the less. It’s between them and the Lord, as it should be.
That was perhaps the single most unchristian post ever.
in listening to people like you, my friend — i am so very grateful that God does not give each of us what we truly deserve, but rather, His soveriegn love pours out grace on us, and offers us hope, instead of hell.
It seems to me that Matthew (that’s in the Bible) refers to Jesus saying that anyone who hates another person is guilty of murder. The sins of the heart are as evil as sins of the body, to God. Be quite careful about going public with all your talk of hate, and hell, and damnation. As we judge others (the Bible tells us from God’s own heart), so shall WE be judged.
Just a word to the wise....my two cents worth..
Yes, pastor, I will. . .as soon as these two men have been neutered with piano wire, then drawn and quartered.
BTW, a man that I knew from school is in prison right now for molesting young girls. He was a policeman and was even a DARE officer. We just never no what is in a mans heart do we.
Once again, I was wrong to post what I did. The grace of God is sufficient for everyone. All they have to do is ask!
Rowan Ford is two words.
Her eyes have seen way too much.
And her smile is really hardly a smile at all. There is little to no joy on her face. I shake my head as I wonder what was going through hre mind when the photographer said; “Now give me a nice big smile Rowan!”. I’m certain there was little to smile about in her world.
What a terrible evil tragedy.
I think we are as well.
I agree with your post; it looked as if she were already being abused. I think the mother should be investigated — she was 44 and living with a 25-year-old. Probably drugs or alcohol involved. The poor baby didn’t have a chance.
That’s important and telling information isn’t it! She was seeking refuge at church and school prior to.....
Thanks for the update.
“I say that if these two bastards are guilty, kill them on the spot. Do not give them a chance to repent of their sins.”
You make a highly persuasive arguement. I too feel your frustration, but no one knows the mind of God. I guess everything will get cleared up once we get to Heaven. (Lord, why did you make slugs,etc.?)/s
First time in here for me so hope this posts....I want to make it clear I AM for the death penalty. BUT...I have heard about what inmates do to child molesters and child killers in prison. I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t be sleeping very well if they were sent to prison for life if you know what I mean. I want to also touch on the family unit here. There was at least one call from someone at her school about abuse. And the autopsy showed an extremely severe case of head lice. SHE WAS NOT BEING TAKEN CARE OF.....This little girl was living everyday with neglect (that includes the mothers neglect), and most likely she was being abused by the step father that took her life. The other man involved had also lived with the family for a while before this. The signs were there. When the call was made to report abuse and/or the neglect this child was suffering it should have been dealt with at that time. This girl should have been followed up on. Her mother should have been mandated to attend parenting classes at the very least AND given the resources she was badly in need of for these children. WHAT THE HELL DOES A LITTLE GIRL HAVE TO LIVE THROUGH BEFORE A STATE PAID AGENCY CAN STEP IN AND HELP HER. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN PREVEMTED. MY TEARS ARE STILL FLOWING!
