The last race of the year thoughts.
This season was not as much fun. Why not?
Too Much Domination.
NASCAR wanted to create parity among the racers, cars and tracks with all their restrictive rules and POSCOT. Instead, what we have are a small group of teams that have figured out their adjustments better than all the rest.
We have five or six superstars and the rest all just hope they can finish the race and there is just no ‘mystery’ in the races any more.
Nevermind that my guy in the 24 car has had a pretty darn good season, yeah that’s nice, but the media coverage just makes it so difficult to enjoy a race on TV.
Has Nutscar OVER-commercialized a good thing? Yep.
Will we all still be watching and going to the races next year?
Yep...
I will say that my interest had been waning, but participation in the FL this year perked me back up a bunch. I’m a fan of Southern, but there hasn’t been a whole lot to cheer about on that front last couple of years. With the FL, I’m able to have a rooting interest to (pretty much) the end of each race. Of course, this may change with the IROC set-up next year. Parades are only fun for a time.
