I turned on Rush Limbaugh late (so I missed part of the call), but I heard a caller ask Rush which candidate would be best to stop illegal immigration.

Rush said (paraphrasing), Rudy Giuliani would not be, there are a couple, I have heard Romney TALK about it.

Doesn’t Rush know that Duncan Hunter actually had a fence built in San Diego, and it was Hunter’s bill that was signed into law for a double fence, with border patrol in between, from California through Texas?

Why didn’t Rush mention Hunter? Did anyone hear this?

Duke Cunningham should have taken 90K instead of a few pieces of furninture.

He should have changed party first--then he'd have had protection.

No, I missed it, but I, too, wish Rush would talk about Duncan Hunter. The man's the most conservative candidate out there, and he needs national exposure.

Laura Ingraham and Mark Levin are the only talk show hosts that seem to realize that we are still in the primary stage of the elections, so none of the candidates are a done deal yet.

Sometimes I listen to Laura online in the morning, but mostly have to listen to her at night, too.

I don’t know why the conservative hosts won’t give Hunter more exposure, particularly this early.

For some reason, Rush has always minimized Hunter’s candidacy.

I think they don't want to insert their influence.

I love Duncan Hines!

it does get irritating. I am beginning to think that Rush is part of the problem. Too much inside the beltway thinking.

I am also so sick about hearing about Hillary I have to tune out Rush at times.

I realize that they are both great canidates but as an every day US citizen would you vote for a guy with a first name of Duncan or Mitt?

He was asked about Hunter and others a few weeks ago. He said it was the candidates' job and not his to get them that exposure. He does not recommend candidates in primaries as he doesn't want to have to switch if they do not win.

Duncan is a great man, but I think he has to generate support before he receives endorsments and such. I know it is a catch 22, but it is the way things work in our system today.

I wish some of his big supporters on FR were a bit more civil and worked for him instead of attacking constantly.

This caller: Yes, the license issue is not dead. It’s just that Hill told Spitz not to do anything about that until after Nov. 2008, and he obliged.

Again, it’s the KKKlinton machinery at work...

That was an extremely weak response by Rush to that caller’s question. It was very obvious he didn’t want to deal with the point the caller was getting at in a straightforward manner, so he tap-danced around it until he could figure out a way to steer the discussion back to his desired focus of how it could be used to benefit the Republican Party.

There is no way that Rush, as well informed as he is, can be unaware of which candidates are strong on this issue and which are weak. And, I can understand why Rush would not wish at this time to appear to endorse a particular candidate by by giving a direct answer. However, he should have just said so. Instead he just made himself appear dissembling and evasive.

Hi, Ingtar! You're right, of course.

I wish some of his big supporters on FR were a bit more civil and worked for him instead of attacking constantly.

Attacking is not a good idea. Some people get carried away. I always prefer politeness, myself.

I have had the same thoughts...for example, I can’t see a President Huckabee...or a president with a lisp....
