If they want to say it to the interviewers after the award ceremony, fine. I’ll still think they are [borderline treasonous] idiots, but as Americans they do have the right to embarrass themselves in public.
But hijacking the organization’s event? That is beyond merely rude.
I also think badmouthing your country elsewhere is as appropriate as publishing you bedroom activities in the local paper.

Boo-freakin'-hoo. Maybe you'll learn a lesson the Dixie Chicks never did. No one cares what Hollyweirdos, singers, or bridge players have to say about politics. Stick to your career (who knew bridge was a career), keep your mouth shut and DO NOT bad mouth the US in foreign countries.

Bridge isn’t exactly known to attract supermodels. Not all female bridge players look like this, but bridge tournaments aren’t the first place I’d go to look for a babe — liberal or conservative.
